When contemplating a data center relocation, it is important to employ disciplined project management to guarantee consistent, accurate results, and minimize risk. At U-PC, we prepare a variety of plans and employ time-proven project management strategies to ensure a successful relocation. Some of these include:
Relocation Processes
Risk Management Plan
Risk Management Plan captures all the risks identified during the pre-relocate review and defines the appropriate mitigation options by the level of risk.
Relocation Rollback Plan
Prior to start a data center relocation, we always have a rollback plan in the case something goes wrong. Rollback Plan means a series of actions taken after the main migration plan has been cancelled due to some huge risks or other issues. U-PC will proactively communicate with clients to decide whether to carry out the rollback plan or not, and if so, to decide to roll back all or partially.
Rollback Plan Architecture:
- U-PC communicates with clients to decide whether to initiate the plan or not. And if so, the plan will be carried out by both sides
- The whole plan contains 5 checkpoints
- At each checkpoint, participants will report the rollback status and conduct the plan accordingly
- At each checkpoint, progress report will be sent to all parties involved.
